For a while now, I’ve felt like I need a personal project. I need something that I can write about that’s not beholden to any client, goal, technique, or ROI. Just something where I can write.
And I think I’ve found it.
James and I are getting married in 10 days (HOLY SHIT)! And 9 days after we get married, we’re leaving the country for 6 months.
We decided that there was no better time to travel than right after the wedding. He’s able to take a leave from work, we’ll have no apartment (our lease is up the day after we wed), the in-laws are taking care of Arnold & Palmer, and we have no major payments to worry about.
So, we decided to take the plunge and we’re leaving.
Iceland, Sweden, Netherlands, Italy, Germany (maybe), and Thailand, here we come.
While we’re gone, I’ll still be working though. After all, I have a business to grow!
And that’s where my personal project comes in.
I’m going to write about what it’s like to run a service-based business while traveling around the world. I know there are plenty of blogs that chronicle what it’s like to run a remote team, or run a lifestyle business while you’re out playing around the world.
But what about a business where you have clients every week and staff who need you? What’s it like to be a founder / CEO and be a wanderer?
So, I’m going to write about it. I’m going to write about running Top Left Creative as a Traveling Founder.
